My generation was born into a society where we were told how the world is in ruins, and may end soon, and we were told that it’ll be on us to correct it. So we get our spirits up, and convince ourselves that we will change the world, and we’re seeing so many talented and fantastic young people around us doing exactly that. But to be colorful in a black and white world can be draining at best and dangerous at worst. We were taught that we can make a difference, but in so doing, we forgot that we need to save ourselves sometime too. So with always trying to be a thousand different colors to help, this person’s true potential is never able to be fulfilled, and as a result, they’re never able to flourish. Even though the world is convinced that they are flourishing, what does it mean if you live a life biting back tears?
