Neurodivergency is impossible to ignore. It’s your friends, your family, your peers, and even your bartender. And yet, so often neurodivergency is treated as an afterthought. People Like Us is a microbrewery and bar run by neurodivergent people, with neurodivergency at the core of it all. Everything we do is for people like us.
With over 30 different hand drawn profiles with over 150 variations in color schemes, visuals capture the idiosynchracy and diversity of various neurodivergent people. A play on words, these profile portraits each represent a neurodivergent profile. It’s meant to reinforce how anyone can have neurodivergencies, reguardless of how someone may look, or act outwardly. Bight colors, bold text, and playful imagery emphasize how neurodivergency is not a flaw, problem, or mistake, but something empowering, that can be celebrated.

Popularized in the 1980s, “nothing about us without us“ is a slogan that empowered neurodivergent people to fight for legislative protection, a battle which eventually led to the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990. This was the first time a nation adopted comprehensive civil rights declaration protecting neurodivergent people.
Created for short form video platforms, this animation utilizes a 9 x 16 format perfect for phones. Quick, bright, and engaging, this animation visualizes many different profiles of people with neurodivergencies, showing how there is no one way to look neurodivergent.
